Oregon Department of Transportation officials have revised their schedule for delivery of 165-foot-long beams for the south Medford interchange from Harrisburg.
The beams will be delivered today, Monday, Wednesday, April 20, April 23 and April 24.
Drivers on Interstate 5 and others using streets near the south Medford interchange project are encouraged to seek alternate routes between 11 a.m. and 4 p.m. on those days while large beams are being delivered to the construction site. The delivery will require closure of Barnett Road at Stewart Avenue (near Hometown Buffet) while the beams are maneuvered off the freeway and down Barnett Road to just east of Highland Drive.
Closures may last up to 10 minutes for each beam delivery.
Four to six beams will arrive each day for the new bridge that will span Bear Creek between Highland Avenue and the new south Medford interchange.
The dates have been adjusted to reflect the time it takes to complete delivery in Medford and drive back to Harrisburg, ODOT officials said.
