- Today is Family Saturday At The Schneider Museum Of Art. The museum is located on the Southern Oregon University campus in the Center for the Visual Arts at 1250 Siskiyou Blvd., Ashland. Events include: from 10-11 a.m., join Perii Hauschild-Owen from Ashland Public Library as she shares stories with flare and pizzazz. This is a free event for all ages. - From 9 to 11:30 a.m. today, the American Red Cross at 60 Hawthorne Ave., Medford, offers a free course for kids ages 8-to-11 to prepare them to respond to a variety of situations including answering the phone and door, gun and Internet safety, personal safety and first aid. Each student receives a free first aid kit, participation guide and emergency phone list. Parents are encouraged to attend the last half-hour to watch the safety video and participate in the final class activity with their children. Call 779-3773.
- The Pear Blossom Parade begins at 11 a.m. today in downtown Medford. The street fair will be held from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Alba Park, at West Main and Holly streets. - The Native American Student Union will present the 15th annual spring Powwow today and Sunday in McNeal Pavilion on the Southern Oregon University Campus, 1250 Siskiyou Blvd., Ashland. - July's cardboard boat races are a great family activity, and families can start planning by attending a free class from last year's winner on how to build a winning boat. - Kids ages 4-to-12 are invited to spend the evening watching movies, doing arts and crafts and playing in a jumphouse from 6 to 10 p.m. Friday at The Santo Center at 701 N. During Parents Night Out, the Santo Center offers parents a chance to enjoy an evening out while giving their children an opportunity to hang out with other kids in a safe, supervised environment .
