Long-time Channel 12 meteorologist Scott Lewis will scale back his weather forecasting to part-time duties at the end of the month to devote time to his new career path — real estate.

Weekend forecaster Milt Radford will become the station's chief meteorologist.

Lewis has spent nearly 22 years at the local ABC affiliate, joining the team shortly after he graduated from college. Lewis recently obtained his real estate license, and plans to spend time learning and practicing his new trade, station officials said in a news release announcing the changes.

Radford, who has handled weekend weather forecasting duties for the past year at Channel 12, has nearly 30 years' experience in broadcasting and 13 years' experience in weather forecasting. He previously worked in Anchorage, Alaska.

Separately, Channel 12 News Director Mark Hatfield will leave the station to become general manager of KEZI 9 television in Eugene, another station owned by parent company Chambers Communications.

Chambers, headquartered in Eugene, owns ABC affiliates KEZI 9 in Eugene, KDRV 12 in Medford, KDKF 31 in Klamath Falls and KOHD 51.1 in Bend.
