Maxine S. Lacy

September 30, 1923 to May 18, 2007

Maxine was born in Talent, Ore. to Joe and Thelma Silva. The family relocated to Aberdeen, Wash. while she was a small child and she finished growing up there. After high school graduation, Maxine moved back to Talent. There she met her future husband, Lloyd Lacy. They were married December 7, 1946 in Reno, Nevada.



In 1953, they moved to Yreka, Calif. with their two children Danny and Twila. Maxine resided there until 2003 at which time she moved to Diamond Springs, Calif. to be near Twila. While in Yreka, Maxine developed many close, long lasting friendships. Over the years, she was involved in many things, including Toastmasters, Sunday School Teacher, Scout Leader, School Aide, Hot Meal Volunteer, and Friends of the Library. She also was the Siskiyou County Elections Clerk (from which she retired).



Maxine was preceded in death by her husband, Lloyd; her son, Danny; brothers, Walt and Butch; and sisters, Pat and Dorothy. She is survived by daughter Twila and husband, Chuck Grasmick of El Dorado, Calif., grandchildren, Phil Lacy of Sacramento, Randy Lacy of Elk Grove, Calif., Dawn Atchley of El Dorado, Calif., Juliette Lacy and partner Stephanie Mitchell of Marina, Calif., J.D. Burns of Lyons, Ore.; Tami Capazzo of Vacaville, Calif., and Candi Ratcliff of Medford, Ore.. Great-grandchildren include Kelsey and Ciara Atchley and Jeremiah Johnson of El Dorado, Calif., Tyanna Lacy of Augusta, Ga. and Jacob Lacy of Sacramento, Calif. Also survived by sisters, Lucille Silva of Albany, Ore. and Shirley Evans of Olympia, Wash.. She was also entirely close to her niece, Carol Leslie and husband, Ed of Albany, Ore.; Daughter-in-law, Phuong Eliott and husband, Dan of Clinton, Utah, and brother-in-law, Joe Thine of Aberdeen, Wash.



Graveside services will be held Thursday, May 24, 2007 at 2:00 p.m. at Stern's Cemetery in Talent, Ore. A memorial service will be announced at a later date in Yreka, Calif.. Donations may be made to The American Cancer Society or charity of your choice.
