A northbound lane of Interstate 5 about a mile north of exit 40 to Gold Hill was closed for roughly 45 minutes this morning.

Emergency crews, including Fire District No. 1 in Rogue River and Oregon State Police, were called at about 8:20 a.m. A passenger car apparently rear-ended a fifth-wheel trailer towed by a pickup, District 1 firefighter Mike Gavik said.

Only minor injuries were reported, and no one was taken to the hospital, he said. The lane was closed until tow trucks could arrive to remove the damaged vehicles.
