Craterian Performances, the nonprofit organization that operates the Craterian Ginger Rogers Theater in Medford, has announced its 11th season which runs fall through spring each year. This year's lineup includes 23 shows, the fifth annual GingerBread Jubilee, plus free community events.

The season opens Sept. 8 with a return visit from Portland-based Pink Martini, the jazz-fusion combo that packed the Craterian in November.

"Solid Blues," is set for Oct. 9 and features legendary vocalist Mavis Staples, harmonica player Charlie Musselwhite, the North Mississippi All-Stars and New Orleans-style piano virtuoso Joe Krown.

An ensemble of Broadway performers recreates pivotal moments in the history of the Great White Way in "Neil Berg's 100 Years of Broadway" on Oct. 17. The Fred Garbo Inflatable Theater Company performs on Oct. 20. The Repertory Dance Theatre from Salt Lake City presents "Time Capsule: A Century of Dance" on Oct. 29.

The fifth annual GingerBread Jubilee is planned for November and will include a gala auction as well a public viewing to benefit the theater.

This season includes four touring musicals: "Evita" on Nov. 18, "The Producers" on Dec. 3, "Peter Pan" on Jan. 23 and "Gypsy" on March 12, 2008.

"Cirque-Works: Birdhouse Factory" performs physical stunts, mechanical inventions, hot music, Fosse-inspired choreography and dazzling lighting effects on Nov. 1. "Music from the Crooked Road" is a National Council for the Traditional Arts tour of old-time, bluegrass, mountain gospel and flatfoot dance set for Nov. 9.

Classically trained John Wilkerson, Alex Bumpas and Matthew Lord, the "3 Redneck Tenors," combine down-home laughs and big-city music on Dec. 14.

The annual Christmas concerts by The Trail Band will be presented Saturday evening and Sunday afternoon, Dec. 1-2.

Master storyteller/humorist and "Prairie Home Companion" creator Garrison Keillor will step up to the mic in a solo performance on Jan. 9.

Free community events planned for next year include the interactive Viva Voce Community Sing-Along on Jan. 11

Broadway legend Patti LuPone lights up the Craterian on Jan. 28, with her "Coulda, Woulda, Shoulda" solo concert which includes music from shows she could have starred in, should have starred in, did star in and will soon star in.

The Acting Company, previously at the Craterian with "The Three Musketeers" in March 2006, returns with a presentation of "Moby Dick Rehearsed" on Feb. 4, an Orson Welles adaptation of the great American novel as a play-within-a-play.

Teatro Lirico D'Europa brings soloists from major opera houses from around the world to Medford for "Italian Opera Gala" on Feb. 13. The Chinese-American International Piano Institute Winners Concert on Feb. 15 will help celebrate Chinese New Year.

Koresh Dance Company brings its high-energy style to the Craterian on March 15 with "Looking Back: Music of the 40s, 50s, Plus Other Work" on March 15.

Men of Worth & Friends will host a St. Patrick's Celebration on March 17.

Luis Bravo's Forever Tango visits the Craterian stage on April 8. The all-Argentine cast traces the history of tango through music, dance and dramatic vignettes.

The Enchantment Theatre Company brings "The Velveteen Rabbit" to town on April 20. Stars on Stage: Celebrating State Soloists featuring Jackson County winners of the District 8 high school solo music competition on April 13.

"Capitol Steps" returns with its satire and political comedy on April 28.
