Don Westcott of Medford has been named the Midas Auto Service Experts Manager of the Year for the Northwest District.

Westcott has 15 years of management experience and has been at his present post since November 2005.



Southern Oregon Public Television has named Helena Darling chief development officer. Darling has 20 years of fundraising experience, including grant writing, planned giving and capital campaigns with the Red Cross, United Way and other nonprofits.

Darling's television and radio career included a stint as news director in Green Bay, Wis., before becoming KDRV-TV's first news anchor. She was also project manager and grant writer for SOPTV's Target Meth Outreach Project and has been a pledge volunteer for many years.

She was vice president of marketing and sales for Mountain Meadows Retirement Community in Ashland for five years and recently operated Helena Darling Catering in Ashland.



Office manager Kendra Hawes has rejoined Carol's Colors of Phoenix.

She joins operations chief Penny Fullmer and senior advisor Carol Corbridge in the landscape office on South Pacific Highway. Hawes was instrumental in organizing the company's office systems in the 1990s.



Umpqua Holdings Corp. announced current chief financial officer Dan Sullivan has assumed new duties as the executive vice president of strategic initiatives.

Sullivan will serve as the primary executive responsible for acquisition integrations, the company's retail brokerage subsidiary Strand, Atkinson, Williams & York Inc., and the real estate property division. Neal McLaughlin, Umpqua's senior vice president and controller, and Ron Farnsworth, the company's senior vice president of financial integrity, together will lead the restructured office of the chief financial officer until a new CFO is named following a nationwide search.

Model railroad trains and collectibles maker Micro-Trains Line Co. of Talent has hired Rob Hamilton as its corporate controller.

Hamilton plans, coordinates and administers the company's financial accounting. Hamilton is a University of Oregon graduate and previously served as a certified public accountant at Michael L. Piels CPAs in Medford.
