The third annual Rogue Valley Air Festival scheduled for June has been canceled, a festival representative said.

The air show, which was set for June 9-10 at the Rogue Valley Airport in Medford, was set aside this year because staff members were swamped with other projects, spokeswoman Megan Anderson said.

"There's just too much going on right now," she said. "We definitely want to put it on next year."

Festival staffers hope to gather more volunteers for 2008 to bring the air show back.

Anyone interested in volunteering is asked to call airport officials so they can contact parties in advance for next year's planning.

"We are bummed that we can't do it this year," Anderson said. "It has really become very popular."

The festival last year featured military jet flyovers, helicopter flights and firefighting helicopter demonstrations, along with other static aircraft displays.
