The Memorial Service for Garey Walruff, 67, of Eagle Point, will be held Thursday, May 31, 2007 at 1:00 p.m. at St. Mark's Episcopal Church, 426 W. 6th St., Medford. The burial service will follow at 3:00 p.m. at Eagle Point National Cemetery. Reverend Jedediah Holdorph III will officiate.
Garey was born March 19, 1940 in Carlton, Ore. On April 7, 1962, in McMinnville, Ore., he married Barbara Baker, who survives. He moved to the Rogue Valley from Portland in 1976.
Garey was the owner/broker of Bear Creek Properties; a Colonel in the US Army Reserve (retired); a 32nd Degree Mason and Past Master, Medford Lodge 103 Ancient Free and Accepted Masons; Eagle Point City Councilman and President; a member of the Eagle Point Planning Commission and Rogue Valley Regional Problem Solving; and a past St. Mark's Vestry Member.
Garey is survived by his wife, Barbara, of Eagle Point; children, Kelli and George Daves, Kevin and Christy Walruff, and Kerri and Scott Ruppel, all of Eagle Point; granddaughters, Hillary and Hayley Daves, Heather and Julie Walruff, Kelsey and Kylee Pearce, and Emma Ruppel; mother, Lelah Walruff, of Medford; mother-in-law, Doris Phelan, of Medford; and sisters, Sharon Lehman of Hawaii, and Riki Renfro of Arizona.
Garey was preceded in death by his father, Richard B. Walruff.
