Jacqueline D. Lund

The Family of Jackie Lund would like all to know that Jackie departed to be with the Lord on Saturday evening, May 26, 2007, at the age of 70. She had gracefully endured a long illness and passed away with dignity in the company of her family at Royale Gardens Health and Rehabilitation Center.

Jackie was born Jacqueline D. Myers in Modesto, Calif. on October 13, 1936, and spent her early childhood in Modesto and Napa, Calif. On April 5, 1952 she married Leroy Lund of Napa. Together they owned and operated a nursery and florist business in Napa until moving to the Applegate Valley in 1997.

Jackie is survived by her husband, Leroy; her daughter, Leanne Eaton and her husband, Walt, all of Grants Pass; her grandchildren, Kirsten Kusiek of Reno, Nev. and Ryan Eaton of Corvallis, Ore. She also leaves her sister, Arlene Oliver of Danville, Calif.; her brothers, Grayson Myers of Napa, Calif. and Wayne Myers of Antioch, Calif. Jackie's son, Mike predeceased her in 1990.

While in Napa, Jackie and Leroy owned "Lund's Nursery and Florist"; a well known local business that served the community for two generations. Jackie was a very talented floral designer, and her work was always in high demand among local businesses and with many brides. In 1997, they sold their business and followed Leanne's family to the Applegate Valley, buying property near Humbug Creek. They built their dream home and affectionately named their 20 acres "Humbug Ranch." Jackie filled her days with gardening and making new friends and being a supportive and loving grandmother to Kirsten and Ryan. Jackie also continued her passion of raising Labrador Retrievers, sired by her national champion show dog "Chester."

For those who knew Jackie, and wish a moment to remember her, there will be a visitation and gathering of friends at Hull & Hull Funeral in Grants Pass from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 31st. Jackie will be returned home to Napa where there will be a memorial service at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, June 17th, at Tulocay Cemetery. There will be a celebration of life after the service, details will be announced.
