County Administrator Danny Jordan will talk about options for libraries at county commissioners’ weekly staff meeting this morning.

The meeting, at 9 a.m. in the Jackson Room of the county courthouse, 10 S. Oakdale, Medford, is open to the public.

Jordan said he will discuss a list of options presented by various entities to reopen one or more of the 15 libraries in the county system.

The county closed the libraries April 6 after losing $23 million annually in federal funding. Although Congress has approved a year’s extension for the money, it is not clear yet how much the county actually will receive.

Since libraries have been closed, several cities and other entities have suggested plans to reopen library doors.
