A plan to rebuild Medfordís two community pools, one as an indoor aquatics center, comes before the City Council today.

The council meets in a study session at noon in Room 151 of Lausmann Annex, 200 S. Ivy St. The meeting is open to the public but thereís no opportunity for public comment.

If it gets the councilís thumbs up, the $28.5 million plan would go to voters before it could proceed.

It would provide for reconstruction of Jackson Pool and possibly for construction of an indoor aquatics center where Hawthorne Pool is now located. The city also has discussed building a regional water park or aquatics center on Barnett Road, where Medfordís dog park is now located.
