One night after being swept by a formidable Salem team, the Medford Mustangs got back on track with a full roster at their disposal Monday.

Shortstop Zack Earle went 5-for-5 with three runs and two RBIs, and Odom, who missed a doubleheader Sunday against Salem Post 9, was 3-for-4 and drove in six runs to navigate the Mustangs to a 13-3 victory in eight innings over Fairfield, Calif., B&L in an American Legion AAA matchup at Harry & David Field.

Earle and Odom each had two doubles — the big one for three RBIs by Odom in the bottom of the sixth inning to put the Mustangs up 9-1. Medford is 7-4.

Fairfield, which is 24-6, was limited to eight hits by pitchers Odom, Jordan Lewis and Shea Bedortha.

Jordan Bostwick, Mark Austad and Dustin Smith all went 2-for-4 for Medford, which will compete in the Best of the West Tournament at Harry and David Field on Wednesday at 7 p.m.

Legion A

ASHLAND PILOTS 14-2, NORTH MEDFORD MAVERICKS 3-6 — Ashland used 12 runs over the first two innings of Game 1 to hand North Medford its first loss of the season, but the Mavericks rebounded with early offense of their own for a twin-bill split in American Legion A play.

Pilots hurler Garrett Tygerson allowed three runs on five hits and hit a bases-clearing triple in Ashland's seven-run first inning.

In Game 2, Blake Mitchell pitched six strong innings and stole home in the first inning to put the Mavericks up 2-0. Mark Cokenour followed with a two-out, two-run single to make it a 4-0 North Medford lead.

Mitchell went 4-for-5 on the day, and Kody Stevens was 2-for-2 and drove in a pair of runs in the opener for the Mavs (9-1).

Max Gordon was 3-for-3 with two runs, and Lewis Sebrell connected for three hits with three runs and two RBIs in the first contest for Ashland, which got two hits each from Owen Baldrica and Billy Russo in Game 2.
