Eagle Scout Bryan Bolint, a 2007-08 senior at St. Mary's School in Medford and a Grants Pass resident, will be attending the summer 2007 Twenty-First World Scout Jamboree from July 27 to Aug. 8 in the United Kingdom.

The Jamboree will be held at the 400-acre grounds at Hylands Park, Chelmsford, UK, just outside of London. The Scout's tour also will include St. Paul's Cathedral, the Tower of London, the British Museum, Westminster Abbey, Buckingham Palace and Windsor Castle.

The 2007 jamboree theme is "One World. One Promise." International participants will come together to live, work and play, overcoming barriers of language, customs and religions to demonstrate Scouting's ability to develop world brotherhood, a spirit of friendship, and a source of understanding among 14- to 17-year-old Scouts.

Bryan Bolint was appointed vice-president by the adult leaders of the 35-member co-ed Venture Crew 431 for the western region of the United States. Bolint was additionally acting president of Venture Crew 431 in Wenatchee, Wash., last May during the crews pre- trip encampment for training and meeting of other crew members from several Western states.

He plans to use his leadership, technical and German language skills to carry out his leadership responsibilities in the UK. He is especially interested in interacting with German Scouts since he participated in the St. Mary's German exchange program in the summer of 2005 where he spent a month in Germany. He and his family also hosted a German student and two German teachers at his home in Grants Pass.

Bolint also was assistant senior patrol leader for the Crater Lake Council contingent to the National Boy Scout Jamboree in Virginia during the summer of 2005, as well as navigator on his Philmont Scout Ranch 70-mile backpacking trio during the summer of 2006.
