Have you ever wanted to take a photo of an eagle up close? Have you ever wanted to see a wolf only a couple of feet away? How about having a cougar, badger, hawk or owl close enough to touch? If you answered "yes" to any of these questions, here's your chance.

My friends at Wildlife Images in Grants Pass announced that they will be holding a Midsummer Barbecue Party from 1 to 6 p.m. Saturday, July 21. Besides good food, there will be a special wildlife photography event with opportunities for all photographers to photograph resident animals at close range without bars and fences in the way. But you don't have to be a photographer to enjoy this fundraising event. There also will be periodic animal presentations at the amphitheater and gazebo area.

For a small donation each guest will have the opportunity to have his or her photo taken alongside a wolf, badger, eagle or other animals. Each photo will be printed in high resolution on premium photo paper and mounted in a special portfolio.

Wildlife photographers are invited to display their work and have it available for purchase during the event as well. To purchase tickets for the event or to receive more information, call Chip Weinert at 541-476-0222.

The staff at Wildlife Images is also attempting to have representatives from photography equipment companies on hand to showcase their latest products and to give photographers hints on getting more out of the gear they already own.

Wildlife Images is a world-renowned facility that cares for and treats sick, injured and orphaned wildlife indigenous to the Pacific Northwest.

Due to the nature of this event, there will be a limited number of tickets sold, so if this sounds like something you'd like to do, call476-0222 to reserve your spot. This could be a chance in a lifetime to get that "perfect" shot. Be sure to mark your calendar now.
