Look for a celebration of everybody’s favorite monkey, Curious George, tonight at Medford’s Bear Creek Park.

The event is the first in Medford’s free summer movies in the park series.

The G-rated "Curious George" is the movie, and Medford Mayor Gary Wheeler is scheduled to read Curious George stories to the audience before the movie begins.

Wheeler is scheduled to read from 7:30 to 8:30 p.m., and the movie begins at dusk, or around 9 p.m. U.S. Cellular, sponsor of the event, will provide coloring books and crayons to kids who attend.

The city plans nine films on Saturday nights through Aug. 18 as well as pre-show entertainment before the film rolls.

Attendees are encouraged to bring blankets or lawn chairs, along with food and drink (alcohol is not permitted).
