The Medford Police Department has identified the toddler who drowned Saturday in a pool at an east Medford home as 2-year-old Madilyn Moser-Rasch of Central Point.

She drowned in her grandparents' swimming pool in the 400 block of Golf View Drive at about 5 p.m. Saturday while her mother, Erin Moser, 22, was attending to Madilyn's 6-month-old sister.

She was transported by Mercy Flights Ambulance to Rogue Valley Medical Center, where she was later pronounced dead.

Medford police continue to investigate the case, but so far, there appear to be no signs of negligence on the part of the mother, said Medford police Lt. Tim Doney.

After taking a swim in the pool, Moser and her two daughters went inside the home, Doney said. Moser was taking care of the 6-month-old baby when she noticed Madilyn was missing. She found Madilyn face down in the pool, pulled her from the water and attempted to resuscitate her. A neighbor, who is a local physician, intervened and performed CPR on Madilyn until paramedics arrived.

The grandparents were not at home at the time.
