Lucille Elizabeth Woods



Lucille Elizabeth Woods, longtime Medford resident, passed away on June 11 in Chicago, Illinois. Death was from natural causes.



Mrs. Woods, born in Winfield, Kansas, was 89 years old. Her family moved to Astoria, Oregon, where she married Parker James Woods, on February 14, 1942. With a brief stay in Salem, the couple lived in Medford from 1945 until they moved to Chicago in 2003 to be near their daughter, Jeani Woods Jernstedt.



The Woods founded and operated the Parker Woods Specialty Shop on Main Street in Medford. Mrs. Woods, an active member of the community, was a volunteer at the Rogue Valley Medical Center for many years.



She is survived by her husband, Parker, 94; her daughter; a brother, Cecil Sharp of Honolulu; four grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
