Gerald Arial Gleason

September 1920 - June 2007



Gerald Arial Gleason went to be with the Lord on the morning of June 23 at his home in Talent, Oregon. Gerald was born at his family's farm in Hesperia, Michigan in September, 1920. His father, Archie Gleason and mother, Mary Newville - Gleason had two other son's, Kent and Douglas and three daughter's, Bonneta, Pauline, and Joan. All Gerald's siblings have preceded him in death except his sister, Pauline, who still lives in Michigan. He is survived by his wife, Shirley Gleason, his sons, Terry Gleason, Randy Gleason, and Eric Gleason, his daughter, Lunette Fleming, eight grandchildren and three great- grandchildren.



After serving as a shipfitter in the U.S. Navy for twenty years, Gerald moved to Talent, Oregon in 1962 where he worked at Tucker Snow Cat, then as a maintenance engineer at Providence Hospital. He joined the Southern Oregon Draft and Harness Association after retiring and made many appearances with his Belgian draft horses at parades, celebrations and draft horse demonstrations.



His family invites all who wish to join them in celebrating Gerald Gleason's life to attend a memorial service Monday, July 2 beginning at 11:00 a.m. at the First Baptist Church, 2004 Siskiyou Boulevard in Ashland, Oregon. Those who want may join the family for the interment that follows at the Eagle Point National Veteran's Cemetery.



In keeping with Mr. Gleason's wishes, family members are asking that, in lieu of flowers, donations should be sent to Cadence International, an organization serving the military community though Christian hospitality.
