Waldo H. Lindstrom



At his request, no services are planned for Waldo Howard Lindstrom, 96, of Ashland, who died Monday, June 25, 2007 at his residence. Private cremation has taken place.



Mr. Lindstrom was born July 23, 1910 to Oscar and Alta (Fuller) Lindstrom at Otho, Webster County, Iowa. The family moved to Guthrie, Minn., March 12, 1912, where Waldo attended school. He worked in the woods and farming in Minnesota.



During World War II, he served in the Army Medical Corps, attached to the 713th Railway Operating Battalion in North Africa, Italy, France and Germany.



On September 10, 1947, he was united in marriage to Hazel Orth. They moved to Oregon in 1947 and Waldo worked as a carpenter and construction millwright, retiring in 1975. His wife Hazel preceded him in death in January of 1994.



Survivors include one son, Obert, of Hayward, Cal.; one brother, Cyril, of Corvallis, Ore.; four sisters, Lois Monson of Cambridge, Minn., Iva Quinsland of Fresno, Cal., Elise Aldrich of Vallejo, Cal., and Iris Gustafson of Duluth, Minn.; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, three sisters, one brother and his wife.
