Identity theft, theft — Darrell Gruenberger, 40, of the 2300 Rabun Way, Central Point. Medford police Thursday arrested Gruenberger on five counts of identity theft and first-degree theft. He was lodged in the Jackson County Jail without bail. Sex offender — Mitchell John Ibarra, 23, no known address. Medford police Thursday arrested Ibarra on a charge of failure to register as a sex offender. He was booked into jail and released on his own recognizance. Warrant — Kevin Andrew Gumm, 38, of the 400 block of South Peach Street, Medford. A Jackson County sheriff's deputy and a Phoenix police officer arrested Gumm on warrants charging him with possession of methamphetamine, two probation violations and failure to appear in court. He was lodged in jail without bail. Drugs — Christopher Charles Martin, 19, of the 8000 block of High Banks Road, Central Point. Central Point police Friday arrested Martin on charges of manufacture, delivery and possession of hashish and endangering the welfare of a minor. He was booked into jail and released on his own recognizance. Drugs — Richard Alan Martin, 22, of Weed, Calif. Central Point police Friday arrested Martin on charges of possession of hashish, endangering the welfare of a minor and furnishing liquor to a minor. He was booked into jail and released on his own recognizance.Theft — Troy Whitney Walter Harman, 20, no known address. Ashland police Friday arrested Harman on a charge of first-degree theft. He was lodged in jail, where he remained late Friday on $5,000 bail. Drugs — Barbara Jean Whitbeck, 33, of the 800 block of Siskiyou Boulevard, Ashland. Ashland police Friday arrested Whitbeck on a charge of possession of heroin. She was lodged in jail, where she remained late Friday on $5,000 bail. Burglary, theft — Michael John Walls, 18, of the 1000 block of Willowdale Avenue, Medford. Medford police Friday arrested Walls on charges of resisting arrest, carrying a concealed weapon, harassment, first-degree burglary and first-degree theft. He was lodged in jail, where he remained late Friday on $40,000 bail. Weapon — Casimiur Dante Johnson, 26, of the 700 block of Boardman Street, Medford. Medford police Friday arrested Johnson on a charge of being a felon in possession of a weapon. He was lodged in jail, where he remained late Friday on $5,000 bail. Drugs — James Lee Whipps, 19, no known address. Medford police Friday arrested Whipps on a charge of possession of hallucinogens. He was lodged in jail, where he remained late Friday on $20,000 bail.

Auto accident

A car collided with a horse on Vilas Road just northeast of Medford late Thursday.

The white Chrysler PT Cruiser sustained heavy damage to the front end, including a smashed windshield. No one inside the car was injured.

The horse died from its injuries. Jackson County sheriff's deputies were investigating the crash late into the evening. It was not immediately known how the horse ended up on the road or to whom it belonged.
