Richard (Dick) Hart

Richard (Dick) Hart of Talent died on July 17 in the presence of his loved ones after losing his 15-year battle with prostate cancer.

Dick was born in Florida but was raised in Wisconsin and Illinois. He married Marie Johnson of Evanston, Illinois, raised his family in the Chicago suburbs, and enjoyed a long, successful career as a graphic designer. He and his wife came to southern Oregon in 1999.

Dick was a World War II veteran of the Air Corps and was training as a fighter pilot when the war ended. He was a man of many interests -- art, music, reading, history, travel, antiques -- and the Chicago Cubs among others.

Dick and his family loved to travel and visited 49 states and eight foreign countries. He is survived by his wife, Marie; their children, Carl and Kristin, Carl's wife, Jackie; and six grandchildren, Jenny, Madeleine, Katherine, Alexander, Carlos, and Francesca; and two wonderful cats, Ole and Marigold.
