Firefighters from three agencies have a line around a 5- to 10-acre grass fire that threatened a home and several outbuildings in rural west Medford.

The fire at 5721 Andrews Road, off Griffin Creek Road, continues to burn as crews from Medford Fire Department, the Oregon Department of Forestry and Jackson County Fire District No. 5 stand watch, said Larry Anderson, deputy Medford chief.

The blaze was reported at 2:05 p.m., and crews were at the property in 18 minutes.

Property owner Bill Pehl was not at home at the time. Investigators have not yet determined the cause of the blaze.
