Ellen Jean Moore



A memorial service for Ellen Jean Moore, will be held at Butte Falls Community Bible Church, on Friday, August 24, 2007, at 11:00 a.m.



Ellen, 78, died peacefully at her home after a six-month battle with cancer. She passed away with her family by her side.



Mrs. Moore was born to Vera and John Larsen, on December 29, 1928, in Kennewick, Wash., and moved to Ore., in 1950. In 1967, she met and married Willfred (Bill) Moore. Together, they raised six children on their small ranch in Butte Falls. Ellen enjoyed horseback riding, camping, gardening, large family gatherings, and community volunteer opportunties.



Ellen retired from 3M Company after 30 years of service, during which time she established many close friendships. After retiring, she devoted herself to many charitable organizations. She was an active member of the Lionness' Club, Scholarship Committee, Dogs for the Deaf, Sight and Hearing Center, Friends of the Library, and Southern Oregon Historical Society. Additionally, she touched the hearts of many children while volunteering as a kindergarten aide at Butte Falls Elementary School.



She is survived by a brother, John Larsen, of Sprague River, Ore., sisters, VeraLee Chapman, of Klamath Falls, Ore., and Carol Gasperson, of Klamath Falls, Ore., daughters, Sandi McCoin, of Burns, Ore., and Nanci Corum, of Medford, Ore., sons, David Moore of Eagle Point, Ore., Wes Moore, of Spokane, Wash., and Bobby Moore, of Medford, Ore.; 11 grandchildren, and 15 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by daughter, Sandy Moore, brothers, Frank Larsen, Paul Larsen, and Bud Larsen, and sister Alberta Larsen.



Her marriage to Bill was a loving and glorious one, lasting 40 years. Together, they spent their lives warming the hearts of everyone they met. Ellen never met a stranger. She could strike up a conversation with anyone and, as a result, had many friends. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
