Travel in the vicinity of Medford's Jackson Street grows more complex starting today as the city expands work on a project to widen the road, a main commuter route.

Several roads in the area will be closed beginning at 7 a.m. today and continuing through 7 p.m. Saturday, said city officials.

They include Jackson Street between Berkeley Street and Hillcrest Road; Sunrise Avenue between Hillcrest and Oregon Avenue and Barneburg Road north of Crown Avenue.

The contractor, KOGAP Enterprises, will be paving during daylight hours.
