Beulah G. Hillyer



Beulah Genille Hillyer died August, 21, 2007, at St. Mary's Hospital, in Grand Junction, Colo. Beulah was born April 29, 1914 in Montrose, Colorado. She was survived by her grandchildren; Darrin L. Hillyer, Daneen M. Hillyer, Daryl R. Hillyer, Derek J. Hillyer, 16 great-grandchildren, and nine great-great-grandchildren.



A graveside service will be held on August 28, 2007, at 1:00 p.m. at Hillcrest Memorial Park, Medford, Ore.



Beulah moved to Grand Junction, Colo. as a young child and attended Emerson Elementary. Her parents eventually moved to Klamath Falls, Ore., where she fell in love with the state she calls home, Oregon. Her family later moved to Medford, Ore., where she attended high school.



She attended a dance with her friends and met a young man from Central Point named Clyde Abraham Hillyer. They were married in Grants Pass, Ore., October 2, 1933. They had their first and only child in 1934, Robert Elmer Hillyer.



Beulah had been a member of the Lion's Club in Oregon and Colorado and served in several leadership positions. She was also a life-long member of the Degree of Honor Protective Association.



Beulah lived, worked, played, and loved in the state of Oregon for 70 years. She eventually moved back to Colorado at the age of 82 years young. She lived with her grandson 11 years in Grand Junction and Fruita, Colo.



Beulah G. Hillyer loved her family immensely. She would quickly shed a tear at the slightest mention of family and their love for her. She absolutely loved animals, and had always cared for a dog and cat most of her life. Beulah enjoyed working, dancing, fishing, and gardening. She actually worked up to the age of 81 packing and sorting pears at Associated Fruit Co. in Phoenix, Ore.
