Thelma Maxine Mumford



Funeral services for Thelma Maxine Mumford, who died Saturday, August 25th at 7:30 a.m., will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 30th in the Conger Morris downtown Chapel at 715 W. Main St., Medford. Viewing will be Wednesday from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.



Due to failing health Thelma had resided at the Rosemond Foster Home for the past one and a half years.



She was the daughter of Tom and Jessie Smith, who preceded her in death. Thelma was born in Chiloquin, Ore. She came to the Rogue Valley as a young girl and attended Oak Grove School for eight years, then Medford High School. Thelma Maxine married Wilbert Eugene Mumford, in Reno Nev., August 29, 1970. He preceded her in death, July 1, 2001.



She is survived by three step-children, Will Jr., Rick, Beth; 10 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren. Surviving her are also numerous nieces and nephews. She will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her.



Thelma Maxine was very active in the community and was a meat packer for many years; she also spent several years in food service. Most of her time was spent taking care of family and friends who were in need of health care or care of any kind. She loved doing arts and crafts. Cooking and canning were some of her favorite things to do as well. She was a wonderful relative and friend.



Thelma Maxine will be laid to rest at Hillcrest Memorial Park, beside her husband.
