Robert David Fuhring

Robert David Fuhring of Central Point, died peacefully on Friday, August 24th, after an intense battle with cancer. Bob was born September 30, 1937 in Jersey City, N.J., to loving parents, Henry George Fuhring and Ana Mae Rechter. Bob grew up in New Jersey, served honorably in the Navy, and worked in constructing high rise buildings in New York City.

Bob emigrated to the Rogue Valley in January, 1975, and began working in a local fabrication shop as a pipe fitter/welder. He worked up to tranco operator and finally retired in 2002. He loved everyday of his career, and mostly especially his loving coworkers.

When you did not find Bob at the workplace, he was undoubtedly in nature, enjoying his life long passion of hunting and fishing. He bred and field trained champion Labrador Retrievers. Bob enjoyed fine cooking and knew his way around the kitchen.

Bob is survived by his three children; Darci, Carlene, and Richter; and two grandchildren, Katie Rose and Anthony Jr., all of whom reside in Connecticut. Bob loved his family with all his heart. He wished to leave an inspiring message of hope to them and to all his posterity for generations to come by referring them to the words found in Psalms 23 and the song Amazing Grace.

Friends are invited to pay their respects to Bob at an intimate memorial service in the chapel at the V.A. Dom in White City on Saturday, Sept. 1st, 9:30 a.m.
