Next Thursday marks the start of a new era in Outdoors coverage for readers of The Mail Tribune.

On Sept. 27, we will unveil Oregon Outdoors, a new, six-page weekly section that will combine the best of our popular Out There pages with the fishing and hunting coverage normally found in Thursday's sports pages, plus expanded coverage of local and regional outdoor activities.

You'll still be able to read Mark Freeman's Outdoor Journal and Outdoors Notes, along with regular columns by our hiking, biking and birding experts. But they'll come in an expanded package, designed to provide the region's most comprehensive outdoors coverage.

As part of this new arrangement, the Mail Tribune's weekly At Home section will move to Friday's editions.
