CORVALLIS — Astoria struck quickly to take a 1-0 lead at the break, but the Hidden Valley boys soccer team countered with a flawless second half.

The Mustangs kept Astoria from attempting a shot after the break while netting a pair of clutch goals to sink the Fishermen 2-1 in a nonconference match at Corvallis High School on Saturday.

Taylor Willi booted home the go-ahead score from the 18-yard mark on a set up from Christian Rentero in the 51st minute.

Willi's strike came just two minutes after Robbie Erkeneff tied it 1-all on a through-pass from Tyler Moye.

The Mustangs (4-1, 3-0 Skyline) had 11 shots on goal to Astoria's four — all of which came after the break.

Jimmy Bickers picked up three saves in goal for the Mustangs, who were led defensively by stopper Jason Kellogg, right fullback Eric Hines and left fullback Kyle Nelson.
