Roger "Papa" Wessling

Roger was born and raised in Minneapolis Minn. There he attended college studying business, where he earned his master's degree. He worked for Aerospace Corporation for 30 years. Roger married his wife, Madge in 1949. They had two daughters, Chris and Debbie. Roger retired from Aerospace Corporation in 1977 and he and his wife, Madge moved to Medford. He worked there for the Phoenix/Talent School district for several years and retired in 1980. He enjoyed golf, music, playing cards, and spending time with his wife and family.



He is survived by his daughters, Chris Selvester, of Long Beach, Calif., and Debbie Shanks, of Dayton, Nev.; grandchildren, Carly Shanks, Karissa Strain, Brett Wessling, and Sara Wessling. Preceding him in death were his wife, Madge; two brothers, Bob and Richard; his father, Dick; and mother, Berma.



Roger loved spending time with his children and grandchildren, and had a love for his dog. His constant companion, his dog, Casey, a springer spaniel, now resides with his granddaughter, Carly, in Nevada. Roger will be remembered as a kind loving father, grandpa and friend to many. Someone who could always make you smile.



A private graveside service will be held at Siskiyou Memorial Park. Please send prayers to his family. He will be deeply missed and will always be cherished. People who knew him will always feel blessed to have had him in their life.
