Jimmie Dale Ross

1933-2007



Jimmie Dale Ross, 73, a resident of the Hillsboro community, passed away Thursday evening, September 20, 2007 at Tuality Community Hospital in Hillsboro.



Memorial Mass will be celebrated on Friday, October 5th at 1:00 p.m. at St. Matthew Catholic Church, 427 SE 3rd Ave, Hillsboro Ore.



Family and friends are invited to attend a reception following the Memorial Mass to be held at the St. Matthew Parish Hall.



Jimmie was born on November 18, 1933 in Cottage Grove, Ore. He was the son of Leonard Ross and was one of six children born to Louise (Kuipers) Stuart. Raised in Cottage Grove, he graduated Cottage Grove Union High. Jimmie attended University of Oregon for two years before he was drafted into the US Army. He served his country from 1953 to 1955 during the Korean War and was honorably discharged. He worked for Howard Cooper Corp. of Portland, Ore. for over 35 years as a Sales Engineer in the timber industry. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, and golfing. He was a University of Oregon fan and enjoyed folowing football, NASCAR, and current events. Jimmie was united in marriage to Vera Violette on June 6, 1953 in Reno NV. They made their home in Southern Oregon until 1970, when they moved to the Portland area. He is survived by his lovely wife and childhood sweetheart of 54 years, and his three beautiful daughters and their families who meant the world to him. Renee (Ross) Simpson, and husband, Steve of Fox Island, WA., Denise (Ross) Haynie, and husband, Brian of Hillsboro, Ore., Lori (Ross) Hagen, and husband, David of Hillsboro Ore., Seven grandchildren; Troy, Andrea, Matthew, Bradley, Jennifer, Courtney and Jeffrey, and three great granddaughters; Haley, Ellie, and Macie.
