Prayer, ceremony, music and American Indian and environmentalist speakers appear this weekend at a First Nations Day celebration that runs through today in Ashland.

It begins at noon at Briscoe Art Wing, 265 N. Main St., and it's free.

The event is organized by Red Earth Descendants, a group concerned about the Earth's future. Sessions on the elements air, earth, water and fire will take place at noon and 4 p.m.
