Dr. Del Proctor

Del Proctor, DMD, made his final transition on September 24, 2007. Far too soon, he is suddenly and tragically gone from us.

Dr. Proctor was a practicing dentist in the Rogue Valley since 1998 when he graduated from Oregon Health Sciences University and decided to make Oregon his home. He came late to dentistry, beginning his training at the age of 32. He had worked formerly as a welder and always had great respect for blue collar professionals. Dr. Proctor's practice is Phoenix Family Dentistry, where he served since 2000.

Del never met anyone he didn't like. His life was full and joyful with patients and their families whom he always considered friends. The staff of his dental office were also family to Del. He greatly appreciated their loyalty and never took this for granted.

Del was born in 1962 in Napa, Calif., to Marie Proctor and the late Dr. Wallace Proctor. He moved to Idaho by age seven, and obtained his under-graduate degree from Idaho State University. Del fulfilled his dream of being a good dentist, caring employer, protective husband and father.

He is survived by his wife, Kaye Proctor; his twin daughters, Shannon and Megan; his mother, Marie Proctor; and sisters, Linda, Sara, and Susan.

According to his wishes, no service will be held. The dental office remains open and is still treating patients due to the kindness of local dentists whose generosity is amazing. Cards and condolences are appreciated by both family and staff and can be sent to 246 Fern Valley Road, Phoenix, OR.

In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory can be made to The Smile Train, (www.smiletrain.org/goto/Dr_Proctor) a group of surgeons who repair cleft palates of orphans or impoverished children worldwide.
