COEUR d'ALENE, Idaho — Dan Golden's hat trick powered Coeur d'Alene to a 5-2 victory over the Rogue Valley Wranglers in NORPAC Junior B hockey Saturday.

The Lakers led 2-0 after the first period.

Golden's power-play goal at 10:09 was the only second-period score.

P.J. Brown cut the Wranglers' deficit to 3-1 with a goal early in the third period. Trevor Clegg and Dustin Fender assisted on the score.

Golden answered with two scores less than one minute apart to boost Coeur d'Alene's lead to 5-1 with 8:08 gone in the final stanza.

Rogue Valley's final goal was on a power play by Pavle Ogrizovic at 11:29. Sam Jossie assisted on the score.

Goalie Nick Cafrelli stopped 50 shots for the Wranglers (0-12-1).

On Friday, Stefan Buck scored two third-period goals as the Rogue Valley Wranglers mounted a late rally but fell to the Lakers, 5-4.

Jossie and Buck both scored on the power play for Rogue Valley.

Trailing 5-1 after two periods, the Wranglers got closer on Ogrizovic's goal 6:44 into the third. Buck made it 5-3 on a power-play goal at 14:47, then added another at even strength moments later to cut the margin to 5-4.

The Wranglers host the River City Jaguars for a three-game series beginning Friday at The RRRink.
