Today's the final day of operation this year for Medford's popular Railroad Park.

Kids and their parents can take a free turn on the small-scale trains from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the park at Berrydale and Table Rock roads. Then the park closes until spring.

The park is home to the Southern Oregon chapter of the National Railway Historical Society, the Rogue Valley Model Railroad Club, the Southern Oregon Live Steamers, the Southwest Oregon Large-Scale Trains and the Morse Telegraph Club.

The clubs offer the free rides, plus exhibits of full-size and miniature trians, a historic locomotive and caboose and an antique telegraph service.
