The Bad Film Society goes seasonal tonight when it presents “Spider Baby,” a creepy movie about a disturbed family starring Lon Chaney Jr.

The fun starts at 6 p.m. in the Ashland Elks Lodge on Main Street. Get in for $3.

“Spider Baby” stars Chaney as a mentally ill patriarch whose condition leads to savagery and cannibalism. When greedy distant relatives and their lawyer pay a visit, a wild night of thrills ensues.

Before the feature, film archivist Steven Mayerson will present rare Halloween-themed shorts. After the feature, the third episode of the 1953 television serial, “The Lost Planet” will be shown.

Bring ghoulish treats if you wish to share the potluck dinner. Halloween costumes are encouraged. Also, bring your trashy videos for a raffle.

Visitors should use the Elks Lodge entrance in the alley between East Main Street and Lithia Way.
