Medford's school board gets together yet again this afternoon to discuss the district's over-budget bond projects.

The meeting, which is open to the public, is set from 3 to 5:30 p.m. in the media center at Howard Elementary School, 286 Mace Road, Medford.

A task force made up of citizens and the school board has been meeting this fall to figure out how to proceed on a $189 million plan to remodel or rebuild schools around the district. The projects are about $27 million over budget.

The task force came up with four options, three of which would permanently close Jackson and Roosevelt elementary schools and one of which would dump a project to rebuild South Medford High School. The board also has floated the idea of converting some or all of its elementary schools to kindergarten to eighth-grade campuses.

It's expected to make a decision on direction next week.
