A Medford woman faces felony assault and hit-and-run charges after striking a man with her car early Sunday and driving away, police said.

Just before 1 a.m., a 28-year-old Medford man was hit by a large SUV at the intersection of Crater Lake Avenue and McAndrews Road.

The driver drove off before police officers arrived.

The suspect, Susan Laverne McIntosh, who lives in the 700 block of Crater Lake Avenue, was identified Tuesday afternoon by Officer Chris Dode, who saw the black 1995 GMC Yukon near the intersection of 10th Street and Siskiyou Boulevard.

Dode stopped the Yukon and arrested McIntosh on charges of second-degree assault, felony hit-and-run, reckless driving and driving uninsured.

The injured pedestrian, Dustin Venturi, who lives on Crater Lake Avenue, was released from Providence Medford Medical Center Tuesday after being treated for facial and head injuries.
