Representatives of several groups are scheduled to appear before county commissioners this morning to talk about results of town hall meetings held to gather public opinion on county funding possibilities.

The commissioners meet at 9:30 a.m. in the county courthouse auditorium at 10 S. Oakdale Ave., Medford. The meeting is open to the public.

The League of Women Voters, American Association of University Women and Citizens for County Solutions organized the series of town hall meetings held in towns across the county.

They asked residents to offer input on how the county might solve its funding crisis. County libraries were closed for six months this year after county government lost $24 million annually from the federal government.

A committee that met for several months before the town hall meetings suggests several possibilities for new taxes to fund county services.
