Can you tell me if and when Tin Tin Buffet at Poplar Square will re-open, if at all?

Tin Tin Buffet was severely smoke- and water-damaged when an afternoon fire gutted five businesses and damaged three others on June 12.

A spokesman for the Yang Family, which operates Tin Tin, said they are aiming to re-open the popular buffet either in late December or early January, depending on the speed of restoration efforts. The section that burned adjacent to Tin Tin is still under reconstruction.

The fire was caused by a malfunction in the sign above Deli Yogurt Delight that generated heat inside the attic, kindling a fire that burned for about an hour before anyone noticed. There were no sprinklers in that attic space. Supercuts, Deli Yogurt Delight, Allstate Insurance, Ace Cash Express and U.S. Cellular were gutted by the flames. Household Finance and Glasses to Go also sustained smoke and water damage.
