An 18-years-in-coming plan to build a park in Medford's Liberty Park neighborhood will be heard by the City Council today.

The council meets at noon in council chambers at City Hall, 411 W. Eighth St. The meeting is open to the public.

The plan is for the park to be built on a .24-acre vacant lot at the corner of Maple and Bartlett streets. It would be the neighborhood's first park.

The council also is scheduled to talk today about a plan to sell 48 acres of industrial land it owns near White City. The proposal to sell the land to Pacific Power, which wants it for a new substation, would bring the city $1.1 million.
