After trailing for much of the game, Cascade Christian got on track in the fourth quarter to earn a trip to the Unlimited Division championship game of the A.G. Edwards Christmas Classic on Friday with a 31-29 win over Lakeview at The Pavilion.

Cascade Christian's Lindsey Blodgett hit a pair of free throws to break a 29-all tie with 50 seconds to play, and the Challengers (6-4) held off Lakeview on its final possession before running out the clock for the victory.

"We struggled early on," Cascade Christian coach Loren King said. "They (Lakeview) did a good job on us. Both teams were so wound up. We played a little different than we would usually play and were a little tight on our shots. We finally just started to gain some confidence."

Lakeview took a seven-point lead into the final quarter before Cascade Christian's Kierstin Barlow, who had a game-high 10 points, hit a jumper, and Chelsea Cason connected on one of her two 3-pointers to get the Challengers back in it. Cascade Christian outscored Lakeview 13-4 in the final quarter.

"This is a huge win for us," King said. "This is a confidence builder when you've got young kids playing on a team."

The Challengers advance to face St. Mary's in the championship today at 5:15 p.m. at The Pavilion.

"I'm sure St. Mary's will test us," King said. "They play an up-tempo game. That's what we would like to play. We'll see if we can play it with them."
