Cadet Nathan Lee, son of Grover and Kendra Lee of Central Point, has earned the Superintendent's Award for Achievement at the U. S. Military Academy.

Cadet Nathan Lee, son of Grover and Kendra Lee of Central Point, has earned the Superintendent's Award for Achievement at the U. S. Military Academy.

The Superintendent's Award for Achievement is presented to the top 20 percent of cadets who excel in the academic, military and physical programs. The insignia for this award is a gold wreath.

Lee graduated from Cascade Christian High School in 2006. He plans to graduate from West Point in 2010 and be commissioned a second lieutenant in the U.S. Army. Lee was in Medford on Nov. 19 to visit local area schools to talk about his experience at West Point.

He was accompanied by retired Lt. Col. Russell Kautz and visited Eagle Point High School, Grace Christian School and Grants Pass High School.

The mission of the U.S. Military Academy is to educate, train and inspire the Corps of Cadets so that each graduate is a commissioned leader of character committed to the values of duty, honor, country and prepared for a career of professional excellence and service to the nation as an officer in the United States Army.
