Frances Ellen Cooper



Frances Ellen Cooper, 77, of Medford, passed away on Thursday, December 20, 2007.



A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on December 27 at Hillcrest Memorial Park Chapel. Pastor Kevin Gowland, of First Church of the Nazarene will officiate the service.



She was born on February 03, 1930 in Santa Maria, Calif. to parents, Steven and Myrtle Spencer, now deceased. She moved from California to Medford in 1962. On October 3, 1964, she married William Earl Cooper, who preceded her in death.



She was a nurse assistant for Rogue Valley Medical Center for nine years, afterwards, she worked at Idle Wheels Mobile Estates as a secretary for 17 years. She enjoyed traveling, ship cruises, sewing and quilting.



On September 4, 1975, she joined the Crater Charter Chapter of the Medford American Business Women's Association, and she was still a member when she passed away. She was honored as "Charter Woman of the Year" in 1980 and 2002. Frances had 26 years of perfect attendance, holding many offices from President to Treasurer. She was also a member of State Jefferson Interchapter Council (ABWA).



In addition to her parents and husband, one sister precedes Frances in death. She is survived by her son, John Spencer, of Oregon City; stepsons, Earl Cooper, Jr. and Billy Wayne Cooper, of Central Point; a stebdaughter, Shirly B. A. King; seven grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
