Clyde and Marilyn Nunnemaker of Medford celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary with several family celebrations during the month of December.

The events were hosted by their children, Becky (Larry) Sullivan of Applegate, and Dean (Donna) Nunnemaker of Grants Pass, and their grandchildren.

Clyde Nunnemaker married Marilyn Fauerbach on Dec. 26, 1947, in Reno, Nev.

Clyde and Marilyn met while attending high school in Fortuna, Calif.

Clyde graduated early and enlisted in the U.S. Navy. He served in the Pacific during World War II.

Marilyn was a secretary at Hamilton Field after graduation and later worked for Pan American Airlines in Honolulu.

The Nunnemakers made their first home in Weott, Calif., then settled in Eureka, Calif., where Clyde worked in the trucking industry and Marilyn was a homemaker.

Their children, Becky and Dean, were born and raised in Humboldt County.

The Nunnemakers left Eureka in 1975 and lived in Redding, Yuba City and Portland before finally settling in Medford, where they've been fortunate to watch their five grandchildren grow up in Southern Oregon.

They continue to be involved in the activities of their two great-grandchildren.
