The Bad Film Society will present "The Creeping Terror," a 1964 film full of inane dialogue, bad direction, non-existent plots and sloppy acting, at 6 p.m. today in the basement of the Elks Lodge in Ashland.

The movie features a monster that somehow gets its victims to crawl down its throat all by themselves. Along with the bad dialogue, the film includes voice-over narration that deviates from the story and, in the middle of the film, offers a bizarre homily on the virtues of marriage while showing a newly wedded couple making out like demons. In fact, most of the monster's victims are eaten while necking or dancing.

Before the feature, film archivist Steven Mayerson will present loony shorts and coming attractions. Also shown will be the fifth episode of the 1953 television serial "The Lost Planet." Participants are asked to bring a potluck dish and a wrapped white elephant gift for a gift exchange. The entrance is located in the alley between East Main Street and Lithia Way. Admission costs $3. Parking is free. See badfilmsociety.org.
