Colorado Rockies shortstop Troy Tulowitzki will help run the Skills Baseball Camp for North Valley High School on Jan. 5-6 at North Valley High in Merlin.

Tulowitzki was the runner-up for the National League Rookie of the Year Award last season. As a starting shortstop, he helped the Rockies reach the World Series, where they lost to the Boston Red Sox.

Tulowitzki was coached in high school in Northern California by current North Valley baseball coach Brian Diatte.

Former Roseburg High standout and current Los Angeles Dodgers pitching prospect Eric Thompson will also attend.

The camp runs from 1-4 p.m. on Saturday and 10 a.m.-1 p.m. next Monday. Cost is $50, which includes instruction on infield and outfield play, catching, pitching, fielding mechanics and base running.

Registration is at 12:50 p.m. on Saturday at North Valley High.
