William "Jack" Houser

1923 - 2008

Wm. Jack Houser, a 39-year member of Alcoholics

Anonymous, was called upon to give the talk at the Big Meeting in the Sky. He just couldn't refuse. His wife, Virginia, packed his Big Book, kissed his cheek, and watched him leave.

LaMar, Colo., birthed him.

Crane, Mo., reared him.

Duty, in the South Pacific during World War II, honed him.

Marriage, to Virginia Antrikin in 1973, blessed him.

Daughter, Shae Houser of Medford, and grandson, Christian Lawrence of Weed, Calif., softened him.

Sister, Dee Crawford of Topeka, Kans., and brother-in-law,

Edward Hensley of Harbor City, Calif., complimented him.

A host of loving friends surrounded him.

Jack always said, "Have a good day, unless you've made

other plans."

We reply, "Thanks for the love song - you've left us a

beautiful melody."
