A workshop to help seniors learn to avoid insurance and financial abuses is set this morning in Medford.

The state Department of Consumer and Business Services plans the workshop from 9 to 10 a.m. at the Smullin Health Education Center, 2825 E. Barnett Road. Itís free.

The session will cover how to recognize predatory marketing techniques used by insurance agents and security brokers, choose insurance and financial products suitable for your needs and avoid scams.
